Prayer items for August and September 2008
Northland
Praise God for the Overseas Summer Missionaries (Traci, Bukola and Shawn) and Cathy and their ministry in Northland over the last few weeks. In the clubs in Kawakawa, Moerewa, and Kaitaia (July 7-11) they had between 8 and 15 children attend each day. They reached over 90 in the 4 clubs. In Waipu and Ruakaka they reached over 30 children. Pray that the local churches will follow up the children who have attended all the clubs.
Please pray for Roland Stark as he plans and advertises for the Christian Youth in Action® course next summer from January 4 through to 24. Pray for Roland and Ruth Stark as they lead the CEF ministry in the Northland area.
Auckland and National
Praise God for the Board Retreat and the National Board annual general meeting. Please pray for the follow up from this Board meeting – decisions to be implemented and more decisions concerning the future to be made.
Please pray for Pam Brooking in her travels for the coming few weeks as she promotes CEF in the South Island. She travels to Nelson on the 25th July.and has training seminars on 29 July, Richmond Presbyterian; 31 July, Richmond Anglican.
Please pray that Pam will get the meetings of God’s choice in the South Island. Pray for her in Christchurch as she speaks at the Rangiora Christian Fellowship on 3 August, Home Group 5 Aug.; North Brighton Christian Fellowship on 10 Aug. North Avon Baptist Ladies Fellowship on 13 Aug.. Pray for those arranging meetings in Dunedin (22-28 August)and other areas in the South Island. Pray for safety in travel.
Pray for increased giving for all areas of our work, general funds, ministry and staff support.
Children’s Outreaches
Praise God for the 77 children registered at the 5 Day Club in Manurewa in July. Eight children were counselled for salvation.
Praise God for the children’s camp in Southland, July 7-11. 90 children attended, 2 counselled for salvation and 3 for rededication. Pray for the follow up of all the children who attended.
Praise God for His help and protection at the Woodend Camp (Canterbury) 14-18 July. Pray for the follow up of the children.
Good News Clubs (Auckland, Nelson and Napier) start again during the week beginning 21 July. Please pray for the teachers and helpers and especially for the children attending.
Korean Ministry
Praise God for the TCE1 course held over 8 Saturdays in June and July.
Pray for the Korean Good News Clubs as they have recommenced after the school holidays – Te Atatu Sth, Mondays and Thursdays; Blockhouse Bay and North Shore, Fridays.
A new Club starts in West Auckland on Saturday 9 August. Please pray for teachers, Sue Kim-Bennett and Jung Ran and for many children to attend.
Pray for weekly training seminars in West Auckland recommencing on Thursday evening 7 August and for new weekly seminars in North Auckland beginning Tuesday 5August
CEF Mailbox Club®
Pray for Margrit Notter and her helpers as they mark and post the lessons.
Praise God for 23 children newly registered with the Mailbox Club.
Tel-A-Story®
Please pray for the Tel-A-Story ministries in Horowhenua, Nelson, Timaru, Dunedin, Gore and Invercargill. Pray that the number of children calling in to hear the stories will increase. Pray that children will go online to access the stories there.
Pray for the children who belong to the Tel-A-Story club. Pray for those who compile and send out the monthly club newsletter.
